Baylor Football Stadium

Waco, TX

Concept

A stadium that utilizes elements of classical Campus Architecture in a modern concept.

The building has brick walls, but they are serrated. The columns hold up the roof, but remain separate from the wall structure.

Serrated Wall

The exterior wall required exact offset measurements based on the multiple radii of the stadium plan. A parametric model was created to quickly adjust the walls to design changes.

Wind simulations were also undertaken to optimize ventilation through the openings.

Energy Analysis

The heavy amount of glazing on the west required extensive energy analysis to determine optimal shading.

Using the evolutionary solver Galapagos, a simulation of thousands of different configurations was run to determine the most energy efficient design.
