Katz Center for the Arts
Kansas City, MO
Working within a limited budget, the proposed renovations for the actual building are minimal. The most significant addition to the structure will be creating a new main entry on the building’s north to south axis.
One of the primary interventions does not touch the building. The modules are built on Car Hauler Trailers. Wide flange steel members are used for structure. Interior partitions are set on a track that allows them to slide and rotate depending on environmental factors.
The modules will allow the space to adapt to whatever events are taking place at the Katz Center. The primary uses are expected to be artist studios, gathering spaces and outdoor events.
