Generative Design of Louvre Layout for Eastern Facade Glazing
Situated on the Brazos River in Waco, Texas, Baylor University's new football stadium was designed with the fan experience in mind. Central to that goal was the thermal comfort of attendees during games, especially in the early fall when temperatures still reach the 90s. The facade was designed as a serrated brick wall, with the design of the openings refined for cooling air flow and passive ventilation. Studies were undertaken to determine the ideal shading structure for the luxury boxes on the east facade. Ultimately a balance was achieved with vertical slats, reducing heating loads while maintaining the aesthetic integrity of the design.
