Assembled Wall
The Manifold Wall was designed to complement several other interventions on the second floor of Wurster Hall, home of UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design. The concept consists of three two-sided panels that can unfold into one long wall or close into a more compact furnishing. In order to build the wall the design was reverse engineered; using parametric scripts a torsion structure was created within the wall, then disassembled into individual pieces with unique IDs. When the pieces were fabricated the IDs were etched on and served as reference for assembly. To efficiently use materials the panels were nested into the dimensions of standard sized boards of plywood.
