The historic Katz Building sits on the axis between downtown Kansas City and the Country Club Plaza. In recent years the building had been vacant. Working within a limited budget, the proposed renovations for the actual building were minimal. The most significant addition to the structure was to create a new main entry on the building’s north to south axis. The main piece of the proposal was six mobile modules to house a variety of functions. The modules have a number of flexible elements built in, which combined with their own flexibility allow for numerous arrangements.
