This small garden structure was a proposed centerpiece for a new community farm in Berkeley, CA. The inspiration for the design is a pomegranate, a fruit that has biblical significance. Structurally the vertical elements are metal rods bent at a specific angle combined with straight wood members that connect between the rods horizontally, with the larger spans containing more cross-members. The thatched exterior allows for light and air to filter in while still providing refuge from the elements.
