How does one learn about a historic site? How can augmented reality help visitors deepen their understanding? These are the questions that drove the design of the Castelvecchio XR app. One of Carlos Scarpa's most revered works, Castelvecchio was an existing castle in Verona that was meticulously renovated into a museum. The blending of old and new is so detailed that a regular visit would leave numerous questions. Using XR, visitors can peel back the layers of the building, understanding what the castle originally felt like, how Scarpa modified it, and the significance and details of those changes.
